Fira de Barcelona entrusts Deutsche Telekom Global Business and SIRT to manage its communications infrastructure

Fira de Barcelona has entrusted Deutsche Telekom Global Business and SIRT, a company specialized in technological solutions, with the configuration, deployment and maintenance of its entire communications and connectivity infrastructure, security and special services for its two exhibition centers, as well as for the more than 150 national and international events it hosts each year.
The joint venture between the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary and SIRT will be in charge of ensuring the steady operation of Fira de Barcelona's communications, an entity that generates an economic impact of around 4,700 million euros per year for the city of Barcelona, for the next two years. Among the services provided, the joint venture will be in charge of designing, developing and controlling the communications infrastructure, along with real-time incident resolution. The agreement will bring Deutsche Telekom's experience as an integrator of great financial solvency together with its solid methodology and technical capabilities (locally and internationally); while SIRT, as a specialized partner, brings a solid technical and integration engineering, with great flexibility and extensive experience in services to public institutions.
Both companies will additionally offer special services for exhibitors at the different fairs and events, including wireless and cable services coverage. Exhibitions, fairs and congresses held at Fira de Barcelona and serviced by Deutsche Telekom Global Business and SIRT include events such as Alimentaria, Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, Hispack, ISE, Seafood Expo Global Smart and Smart City Expo World.
