Data Privacy Information
Deutsche Telekom AG attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data. We always inform you what personal data we collect, how your data is used, and how you can influence this process.
1. What data is recorded, how is it used, and how long is it stored?
a) Technical specifications:
When you visit our websites, the web server temporarily records the domain name or IP address of your computer, the file requested by the client (file name and URL), the http response code, and the website from which you visit us.
The recorded data is used solely for data security purposes, in particular to protect against attempted attacks on our web server (GDPR Art. 6 (1) f). We do not use this data to create individual user profiles and do not share this information with third parties. It is deleted after seven days at the latest. We reserve the right to statistically analyze anonymized data records.
b) Dynamic FAQ:
If you use the FAQ and submit a question that is not included in the existing answers, you will be asked to enter your e-mail address. We will only use this e-mail address to send you your answer.
c) Web forms:
Further personal information, such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address, will not be collected unless you provide this information voluntarily.
2. Control of data used by social media plug-ins and links to social media platforms
Some web pages may contain social media buttons (e.g. Facebook, Google, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Xing or LinkedIn) that you can use to recommend Deutsche Telekom AG's services to your friends and family.
When a social media plug-in or link is activated by clicking on the pictogram (GDPR Art. 6 (1) a), including content sharing, the following data may be transmitted to the social media provider: IP address, browser information, operating system, screen resolution, installed browser plug-ins (such as Adobe Flash Player), the previous web page if you followed a link (referrer), the URL of the current web page, etc.
The next time you visit the website, the social media plug-ins are again provided in deactivated mode by default, so that no data is transferred during your repeat visit to the website.
3. Will my usage habits be evaluated, e.g. for advertising purposes or tracking?
Explanations and definitions
We want you to enjoy using our websites and take advantage of our content and services. In order for you to find content that interests you and for us to make our websites user-friendly, we analyze your usage habits based on anonymized or pseudonymized data. Deutsche Telekom or its contracted data processors create usage profiles in accordance with legal requirements. This information cannot be traced directly back to you. The following information is provided to give a general overview of the various purposes of data processing. The cookie message displayed when you visit our web pages offers the option to accept or reject the use of cookies. Cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the web service cannot be rejected (see explanation in item 1 above).
Tag management (required)
Tag management allows us to manage the use of tools on the different web pages of our web portal. To do this, a tag is defined for each page. The tag content determines which tools are to be used for that page. Tag management is used to ensure that tools are only used where appropriate in each case.
Market research/reach measurement (optional)
Reach measurement provides statistics on the usage intensity and number of users of a website, as well as comparable figures for all connected services. Individual users are never identified. Your identity is always protected.
a) Necessary cookies
These cookies are necessary to enable you to navigate the web pages and use basic functions. They support basic functions such as order processing in the online shop and access to secure areas of the web page. They are also used to conduct anonymous analysis of user behavior, which we use to continuously develop and improve our web pages for you. The legal basis for these cookies is GDPR Art. 6 (1) b.

c) Analytical cookies
These cookies help us better understand user behavior.
Analytical cookies allow usage and identification data to be compiled into pseudonymous usage profiles by the original provider or third-party providers. We use analytical cookies, for example, to determine the number of individual visitors to a web page or service, to collect statistical data on the performance of our products, and to analyze visitors' usage habits and visitor interactions based on anonymous and pseudonymous information. This information cannot be traced back to a person. The legal basis for these cookies is GDPR Art. 6 (1) a and, for third countries, GDPR Art. 49 (1) a.
Apart from necessary cookies, this website does not use other analytical cookies for the anonymous evaluation of user behavior.
d) Marketing cookies/retargeting
These cookies and similar technologies are used to ensure the display of personalized and therefore relevant marketing content.
Marketing cookies are used to present interesting web content and measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. This happens not only on apps or Telekom web pages, but also on the pages of other advertising partners (third-party providers). This is also referred to as retargeting. It is used to create pseudonymous content or advertising profiles, place relevant advertisements on other websites, and gain insights into the target groups viewing the advertisements and content. This information cannot be traced back to a person. Marketing and retargeting cookies help us present advertising content that is potentially relevant to you. By disabling marketing cookies, you will continue to see the same number of advertisements, but they may be less relevant to your interests. The legal basis for these cookies is GDPR Art. 6 (1) a and, for third countries, GDPR Art. 49 (1) a.
e) Services of other companies (independent third-party providers)
Some of our web pages contain services from third-party providers who are solely responsible for their services. When you visit one of our web pages, cookies or similar technologies may collect data and send this data to third parties. Some of this data may be transmitted for Deutsche Telekom's own purposes. The legal basis for these cookies is GDPR Art. 6 (1) a and, for third countries, GDPR Art. 49 (1) a. The scope, purpose and legal basis of additional processing carried out by third parties for their own purposes can be found in the privacy policies of the third parties. To processors, i.e. companies we commission to process data within the legally defined scope, GDPR Art. 28 (service providers, agents). 8. Where is my data processed?
Your data is processed in Germany and other European countries. If, in exceptional cases, your data is processed in countries outside the European Union (so-called third countries), this will happen if
a) you have explicitly consented to this (GDPR Art. 49 (1) a). (In most countries outside the EU, the level of data protection does not comply with EU standards. c) or to the extent required by law (GDPR Art. 49 (1) c).
Furthermore, your data will only be processed in third countries if certain measures guarantee an appropriate level of data protection (e.g. adequacy decision of the EU Commission or suitable guarantees, GDPR Art. 44 et seq.).
